This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Performs engineering calculations, prepares specifications, performs analyses, performs testing, issues reports and maintains related data for transportation related projects..

  • Maintains liaison with design and drafting groups.

  • Prepares, reviews and approves drawings as required.

  • Advises the Supervising Discipline Engineer about status of assignment(s) with respect to schedule, budgets, delays and adverse problems.

  • Ensures quality, quantity and completeness of the assigned engineering tasks.

  • Plans and schedules transportation engineering efforts associated with assigned project.

  • Maintains timely and accurate oral and written technical reports regarding assigned engineering activities.

  • Keeps proper engineering files and records.

  • Develops understanding of transportation industry codes and standards.

  • Understands and uses computer software and applications associated with engineering assignments related to roadway design, hydraulics and drainage design for transportation projects.

  • Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities and pursues additional coursework and training.

  • Complies with company’s safety awareness program, office and/or field safety policies.

  • Under direct supervision, may complete engineering assignments of limited complexity.

  • Applies a beginning level of understanding within a specific discipline.

  • Understands project scope as presented within a specific discipline.

  • Provides support for client’s engineering deliverables. Introduced to business development concepts and is able to support proposals.

  • Limited familiarity with codes, permits and software applications related to the discipline. Introduced to the process of preparing calculations within a specific discipline.

  • Able to learn and use basic CAD sketching tools.

  • Can read and understand construction drawings.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline or the sciences from a four-year accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Introduced to business development concepts and is able to support proposals.

  • Introduced to the process of preparing calculations within a specific discipline

  • No Experience required, FE (EIT) certificate preferred.
