AECOM Transport Planning and Engineering – Director and Principal levels in Melbourne, Australia

Job Summary

AECOM Melbourne’s Transport Planning and Advisory team work as a trusted advisor to the State’s most important and influential clients – the Department of Transport, Level Crossing Removals Project, Rail Projects Victoria, Major Road Projects Victoria, V/Line, and more.

We are growing as a result of some exciting new market opportunities and looking for enthusiastic and experienced senior-level Transport Planners and/or Engineers.

In joining AECOM you will significantly contribute to the development of the largest transport infrastructure projects in Victoria and across Australia, be part of a thriving and cohesive team, and provide our clients with innovative and inspiring solutions.

The Roles

As an Associate Director or Principal level Transport Planner or Engineer with AECOM you will:

  • Help lead a team of experienced and emerging technical professionals with responsibilities for people leadership, project management and business development

  • Provide high quality technical advice on transportation matters and identify innovative solutions to solve real world challenges

  • Be responsible for delivering projects to program, budget and quality expectations

  • Have and maintain a strong network across the transport industry and be identified as a specialist in your technical discipline

  • Establish and maintain internal relationships across AECOM to support our multi-disciplinary approach to delivering work

  • Be committed to delivering the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Minimum Requirements

About You

You enjoy working in and leading teams, being accountable for your work, and influencing project performance. You enjoy developing and nurturing relationships within AECOM and across the industry, whether through project work, client initiatives or industry associations. You are positive, looking at challenges as opportunities to innovate, collaborate and grow. You are a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills. You care about delivering the right solution, on time, every time.

Ideally you will have:

  • A degree in Transport Planning, Traffic Engineering, Urban Planning or Civil Engineering

  • High-level knowledge of strategic transportation planning and/or well-developed technical transport engineering skills

  • A proven record of delivering projects within the transport sector in Australia

  • A demonstrated ability to secure work and develop business with clients in Australia

  • Demonstrable experience managing and inspiring successful teams of professionals at all levels
