AECOM Senior Transport Modeller in Melbourne, Australia

Job Summary

AECOM’s Transport Advisory team is looking for a passionate and experienced Transport Engineer and Modeller to support the delivery of transport and engineering projects for key clients in Victoria and across Australia. In joining our team, you will provide specialist inputs to a range of projects, including technical delivery of transport engineering and modelling tasks, guidance and mentoring of team members, project management and leadership roles, and opportunities to grow the traffic and transport discipline.

The successful applicant will contribute to winning and delivering projects, preparing proposals and presentations, and developing technical skills of junior team members. Working at AECOM, this role will give you the opportunity to develop, shape and grow your career.

About You

As a Transport Modeller with AECOM your work will involve:

  • Leading a team of experienced and emerging professionals with responsibilities for people leadership, project management and business development

  • You will partner with and provide high quality technical advice to clients on transportation matters and identify innovative solutions to solve real world challenges

  • You will be responsible for project delivery to program, budget and quality expectations

  • You will grow the transport modelling capability of the team through structured and on the job technical training opportunities

  • You will maintain strong working relationships across the transport industry and be identified as a specialist in your technical discipline(s)

  • You will establish and maintain internal relationships across AECOM as a specialist in your field.

Minimum Requirements

Ideally you will have:

  • A degree in Transport Planning, Traffic Engineering, Urban Planning or Civil Engineering

  • Transport and Traffic Engineering experience – demonstrate sound knowledge of, and experience in the application of, local traffic engineering standards and guidelines

  • Transport and Traffic Modelling experience – good working knowledge of operational modelling packages, including VISSIM, AIMSUN and SIDRA. EMME and CUBE would be beneficial but not essential

  • Experience in Traffic/Transport Impact Assessments, Road Safety Audits and Road Safety Assessments is desirable but not essential

  • Demonstrated capability in securing work and delivering projects within the transport sector in Australia

  • A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills.
