Job Description
As the Project Finance and Commercial Manager, you will lead and support the Project Managers and Project Finance Team regarding the APIC / Oracle accounts system, controls project costs, and meet cost reporting requirements for both internal project management and client reporting. In conjunction with the Project or Program Manager, you will manage AECOM’s commercial interests and identify opportunities to manage risks and benefits. You will also mentor and support cost control/financial team members across a program of Major Projects.
This role maintains and further develops their professional and technical skills to the highest level and supports the development and training of leading-edge technical skills, whilst considering and adopting practical ways to standardize and create efficiencies across the program of projects that add value to AECOM and its clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for:

Leading and supporting development of commercial capability improvement at project and program level.
Maintaining effective working relationships with internal Finance and Commercial functions.
Support the project leadership team in identifying commercial risks and opportunities
Capturing, calculating, analysing, reporting and making recommendations on project data including funding, budgeting, commitments, certifieds (actual costs), estimates, resourcing and other commercial considerations.
Supervising data input, coding, loading and quality control.
Providing assurance (process compliance) of relevant process documentation.
Performing Earned Value calculations relative to cost and schedule.
Use of cost control/cost management software applications.
Develops long-term effective business partnerships.
Preparation of specialised programme reports and presentations for management.
Support the project manager in administering the project contract/consultancy agreement including commercial/contractual communications.
Active participant in risk and opportunity assessments, internal commercial discussions, project reviews and the like.
Qualifications
Ideally, you will have:
Experience in Major Infrastructure Projects.
Previous experience with project accounting/cost/project controls
Experience in the engineering consulting environment
Experienced delivering to Contractor clients
Successful track record in field of expertise and substantial project experience.
Able to prioritise multiple tasks and be proactive in meeting deadlines.
Highly motivated and enthusiastic – eager to learn and take on new tasks
Appropriate tertiary qualification with demonstrated commercial acumen.
Experience with Oracle an advantage
The ability to be an attentive and active listener
Timely and effective communicator.
