Job Description
The infrastructure pipeline in South-Eastern Australia continues to grow, and AECOM is playing an influential role in the development and delivery of many of these key infrastructure programs and projects. This includes projects in the rail, roads, aviation, urban development, renewable energy and defence markets.
AECOM is seeking applications for many roles to grow our Pavement Engineering team in Melbourne to support existing projects and pursue the exciting opportunities ahead.
You will have 6+ years of experience in the delivery of road and aviation projects, be experienced in pavement asset management, producing tender documentation, and construction support.
As an experienced Engineer specialising in pavements, you will have the opportunity to work on major road projects and capital city airports across Australia and New Zealand, and you will be supported by a network of skilled and passionate professionals across the world.
Your responsibilities will include:
Technical management of pavement and aviation projects and management of interfaces with other disciplines
Strong knowledge of national pavement design standards, materials, delivery procedures, and local industry context
Understanding of consulting business, project delivery, and ability to produce design documentation such as design reports, technical specifications, drawings at concept, preliminary, detailed, and issued-for-construction design phases
Undertake construction support services for roads and aviation projects, produce and review quality assurance / quality control records, and establish positive communication with Contractors and Clients
Create and reinforce connection with the industry, Contractors, and key Clients, and assist the Team with consolidating the AECOM Client portfolio and winning new Clients
Demonstrate passion and focus on sustainability in pavement design and construction
Review technical documentation and provide mentoring to younger engineers
Planning, supervision, and interpretation of geotechnical investigation and laboratory testing
Review and interpretation of non-destructive pavement testing with Falling or Heavy Weight Deflectometer, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Light Weight Deflectometer (LWD), surface friction testing, and surface profiler testing
Qualifications
You will be an experienced Engineer specialising in pavements, ideally RPEV qualified.
You enjoy working in teams and aspire to leadership roles based on your specialist knowledge as part of multi-disciplinary teams or managing relevant projects outright. You enjoy being accountable for your work and influential in the project’s performance. You enjoy developing and nurturing relationships within AECOM and local industry, whether through project work, client initiatives or industry associations. You are positive, looking at challenges as opportunities to innovate and collaborate.
