AECOM’s progressive Cost Management team has a new opportunity for a proven Cost Manager to work in partnership with our Building Services teams in particular, supporting major multidisciplinary projects in Healthcare, Education, Defence, Civil Infrastructure and Aviation.
This is a new position to support our growing team of Cost Managers in Melbourne and will allow you to lead and support our multi-disciplinary projects with a key focus across MEP estimating while partnering with clients and internal teams to deliver diverse and exciting projects throughout Victoria and nationwide.
The Role
As part of our high performing Cost Management group, you will be responsible for providing cost management services on some of Melbourne’s most iconic projects, giving you the opportunity to further develop your career in a range of market sectors.
As part of this role tasks will include, but are not limited to:
Leading MEP projects in estimation, feasibility studies, and providing capital cost advice;
Cost planning and estimating during design phases;
Measurement of quantities based on design drawings;
Construction phase cost management;
Asset Management
Life-cycle costing.
Risk Management
Producing monthly cost reporting, cashflows and the like
Developing client relationships both internally and externally
Minimum Requirements
Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineer, Cost Management or Quantity Surveying;
Proven professional experience in Cost Engineering, Project Management and Quantity Surveying in construction or engineering environments;
Specifically demonstrated project experience within MEP disciplines; Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing aspects of Building Services;
Demonstrated skills in managing multiple project costs and budgets, specifically across Building Services;
Strong knowledge and working practice of Australian Quantity Surveying/Cost Management standards, frameworks and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Construction and on-site experience is highly advantageous;
@Risk software is highly advantageous
AIQS / RICS is desirable
MEP Cost Manager is highly advantageous;
Knowledge of CostX is desirable.
