Job Description
Due to recent project wins and a strong pipeline of work, AECOM are currently searching for experienced and motivated Drainage engineers to join our Water Resources team in Melbourne. The focus for these roles will be to support a variety of projects in the transport, water, power and urban development markets located across Melbourne and Australia/New Zealand. You will work with teams of professional engineers, scientists, technicians and support staff to deliver drainage design packages for major infrastructure projects, as well as take responsibility for delivering a range of exciting water resources projects in their own right.
We are currently helping to deliver multiple large infrastructure projects such as the Rail Infrastructure Alliance, Craigieburn Road Upgrade and the Barwon Heads Road Project and also supporting the design for various other sectors such as renewable energy. Your experience, particularly in longitudinal and transverse drainage design on major projects means you will have the opportunity to work on complex, interesting projects and where appropriate provide direct supervision, leadership and mentoring of junior staff to assist in their professional development. The role also offers a significant opportunity to establish yourself within a diverse and growing team of water resources professionals, and to ultimately broaden your experience across the wider water resources sector.
Qualifications
Ideally you will have skills in the following areas:
Bachelor’s degree in civil or civil/environmental engineering
Relevant years post-graduate experience, ideally in consulting engineering and on large infrastructure projects.
Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability work well in a team environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Well-developed organisational and time management skills
An appetite for fast-paced major projects, and the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
High level of proficiency using industry-standard drainage analysis and design software technology applications (e.g., 12D, DRAINS etc.).
To be successful in this role you will be a clear and confident communicator, with a keen interest in further developing your existing skillset but also broadening your experience across a wide range of projects.
