Job Summary

AECOM are looking for a visionary

Cost Management Practice Lead across Australia and New Zealand to leverage the opportunity in the market around Digital Disruption. Building on AECOM’s existing first-rate Cost Benchmarking Database and Model Management skills, this role requires an innovative, strategic cost manager with technical expertise to work with the ANZ Cost Management team to craft a vision for the future of Cost Management in the digital space.

In addition, building on the broad client base that AECOM has across the buildings and infrastructure sectors to challenge the norm and service our clients in a new way, that is faster, interactive and relevant in a market that changes regularly with major city shaping projects across Australia and New Zealand. This role can be based in either Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane with an ANZ presence, working alongside regional Practice Line Leaders to set the strategic priorities for the practice area and deliver against the ANZ Strategic Plan.

The Cost Manager Practice Lead plays a key role in ensuring AECOM’s technical expertise and professional advice is market leading in its quality, timeliness and innovation. Fostering a strong technical learning culture is also critical for attracting key staff and growing their knowledge with the business. The Cost Manager Practice Lead is responsible for supporting major pursuits, strategic planning, knowledge sharing and expanding capability of their Practice Area.

Key functions of the role include;

  • Developing and maintaining a Practice Strategy and Growth Plan specific to digital excellence.

  • Establishing and managing budgets for costs such as capital expenditure, travel, associated with the activities supporting the practice area.

  • Creating and maintaining relationships with the equivalent Practice Leaders in other geographies globally as well as support for major cross-geography practice pursuits and the development of global practice areas.

  • Innovation initiatives.

  • Strategic recruitment.

Minimum Requirements

About You:

  • 15+ years relevant professional experience.

  • Consulting experience.

  • Proven experience acting as Client Relationship Manager for key accounts, establishing regular contact and rapport with key work distributors within the Client’s organisation.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external clients.

  • Experience developing new client relationships.

  • Experience leading a high performing, dynamic team.

  • Experience in participation of business and strategic planning activities in order to identify opportunities to sustain the growth of the business in short, medium and longer term.

  • Attendance at industry functions and maintaining presence in the market.

  • Create a high-performing, motivated and engaged team via performance planning, performance management, appropriate reward and recognition and learning and development opportunities.

  • Strong connections in the ANZ Market.

  • Ability to influence, and adapt in a fast paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction management and economics or similar.
