AECOM Laborer in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

The construction group of AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Laborer for immediate employment in the Upstate New York area.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of tasks in support of survey or construction activities

  • Duties may differ depending on the specialty area

  • Activities may include setting up and operating equipment; inspecting equipment; inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications; maintaining project documentation; assisting with the building, repair, or maintenance of a structure or roadway

  • Relies on general understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish moderate goals

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Position requires using an AECOM provided vehicle and/or personal vehicle for AECOM company business.

  • Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Must pass state and federal criminal history/security pre-employment background checks

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen

  • Physically able with or without an accommodation to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat cold, moist, dry, dust, noise.

  • Requires working in an environment of heavy, moving dangerous equipment and occasionally chemicals, radiation, vibration, and confined spaces.

  • Frequently lifting and occasionally carrying, shoveling, moving, or loading various objects such as tools, equipment, debris, boxes, and fabric rolls up to 45 lbs. with or without assistance.

  • Occasionally working with arms above shoulder level, bending, stooping, and using portable ladders.

  • Frequently standing and moving around project to perform various tasks such as assisting with building, repair or maintenance as needed.

  • Frequent hand movements including power gripping/squeezing various hand tools and levers.

  • Must participate and adhere to various safety training.

  • Must wear all associated personal protective equipment, such as gloves, safety glasses, shoes, hard hat, and hearing protection.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 + years of experience

  • In site stabilization, MCP, dredging, construction oversight, PCB’s landfill capping, demolition

Additional Information:

  • Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available for this position.

  • This position will require a Motor Vehicle Record Screening.
