Job Summary

The Junior Mechanical Engineer will provide technical oversight of operation and maintenance activities for mechanical systems and equipment within a large facility. They will assess mechanical infrastructure conditions and support in development of high reliability and quality maintenance programs with support of long term recapitalization plans. Work with technicians to optimize the reliability and quality of mechanical operations which includes maintenance plans and schedules, and troubleshooting.

The Junior Mechanical Engineer must have knowledge of:

  • Mechanical Systems

  5. Air Handling Systems

  6. Air Handling Distribution Systems

  7. Variable Air Volume Systems (VAV)

  8. Indoor Air Quality

  9. Heating Systems

  10. High Pressure Steam Boilers

  11. Steam Distribution Piping

  12. Humidification

  13. Monitor and Control Systems

  14. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

  15. Building Automation (BAS)

  16. Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition Systems (SCADA)

  17. Emergency Power Generation

  18. Gas/Diesel Generators

  19. Fuel Storage and Distribution Systems

  20. Environmental Emission Control

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in mechanical engineering required.

  • 3 to 5 years of industrial experience in design and/or operation of commercial buildings systems such as heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems; high and low pressure steam boilers; electrical generators; indoor air quality; plumbing; safety and fire protection systems; and monitor and control systems.

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a diverse team in a very high quality and reliability technical environment.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
