Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a ES&H Manager for the FRAME program.

The ES&H Manager will ensure the safety program is executed as appropriate, the safety and environmental requirements are upheld in accordance with AECOM, OSHA, and Customer requirements. The position will also be responsible for ES&H duties at other Washington Metro Area (WMA) sites as needed and required.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Create and maintain work instructions, forms, and site specific EHS program procedures

  • Coordinate and administer all employee EHS training, as required

  • Conduct regular EHS inspections site-wide

  • Lead and facilitate Safety Committee on-site meetings

  • Maintain EHS postings; including EHS metrics, safety committee on site meetings, annual OSHA requirements, etc.

  • Attend all corporate EHS meetings

  • Oversee Safety Data Sheet maintenance requirements

  • Oversee the reporting, investigation and documentation of all accidents and near miss incidents, following up with supervisors and employees on those incidents and determining and managing corrective actions

  • Encourage all employees to follow EHS expectations; communicate company EHS policies and goals to employees, respond to and/or review employee EHS concerns

  • Assist with Workers’ Compensation actions including clinic relationships, investigations, and documentation

  • Manage hazardous waste within the facility: assist USG ESH officer with hazardous waste pick-ups, profile waste, and submit weekly SAA inspections

  • On-call at all times to respond to EHS related issues and must be available to work extended hours when required

Respond quickly to inquiries and follow ups, as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Top Secret SCI Clearance with Polygraph eligible – preference to candidates with active TS/SCI

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, life sciences, industrial hygiene, engineering, or other related field plus 8 years’ of SH&E experience (certification and/or relevant experience can be substituted in place of a degree)

  • Ability to work autonomously using considerable independent judgment, direction, and initiative in carrying out daily operations

  • Ability to perform post incident investigations to include detailed reporting and verbally communicating with the PMO, Corporate SH&E, and other pertinent parties until all actions have been closed.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a team based environment and interact professionally with co-workers and vendors, understands internal customers, and strive to maintain good relationships with others.

  • Must have knowledge or demonstrate ability to learn EHS regulations, issues, procedure, processes, reporting requirements, and other compliance requirements with federal, state, and local laws governing the environment,

  • Capable of conducting regular safety and environmental inspections of all work areas and provides written reports detailing corrections and issues addressed; strong writing skills are required.

  • Responsible for evaluating chemical, mechanical, thermal, electrical, physical, and ergonomic hazards and providing recommendations to reduce or eliminate safety hazards

Ability to effectively use MS Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional, Occupational Health Safety Technician, or similar

  • Intel Community experience preferred

  • Experience working with large, complex, multi-disciplined programs

  • Customer Service focused with previous experience in EHS preferred
