Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Manager for immediate employment for the Markham, Ontario office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manages architecture and engineering design projects for both new and renovated infrastructure

  • Applies project management knowledge, tools, techniques, and processes to activities to successfully achieve project objectives.

  • Coordinates project work with design groups such as architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil to expedite deliverables including technical reports, design drawings, construction drawings, and construction specifications

  • Plays an active role in records management, budget tracking, and scheduling

  • Prepares meeting minutes, progress reports, and other documents

  • Will be primary point of contact with clients

  • Responsible for preparing proposals for new work in addition to existing work

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree architecture, engineering, or related technical field

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required

  • Must have a technical background from and be able to interpret technical subject matter such as engineering drawings and specifications; must be able to understand fundamental building science

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related documentation

  • Must have an understanding of fundamental building science

Preferred Qualifications

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; able to use e-mail, prepare word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, etc

  • Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives

  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency

  • Outstanding oral communication, written and presentation skills

  • Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills

  • Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively

  • Experience working on projects for the Canadian Federal Government, Public Works Government Services Canada, and Defence Construction Canada is considered an asset
