Position Title Gunsmith II
Germany - Baden-Württemberg
This position is located in Mannheim, Germany.
The Technician disassembles and examines parts and assemblies and re-assemblies and adjusts components. Determines serviceability of weapons and parts. Diagnoses and determines remedies for failures commonly encountered in the repair of small arms using a variety of diagnostic techniques and TMDE with little or no supervision. Assists with inventories. Enters and updates computerized information. Safely uses common hand tools and shop equipment effectively without assistance. May instruct other employees in proper repair maintenance procedures. Required to conduct receive cross training as directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
2-3 years’ experience in small arms repair required.
US Army MOS 45K, USMC 2111 or NATO military organization equivalent.
Maintain a daily timesheet and daily manning report and ensuring times are accurate.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to situations where risk of electrical shock and vibration exist. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

High School graduate or equivalent.
Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
Must be able to meet and maintain all Logistic Information System (LIS) access requirements (Common Access Card).
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Specialized knowledge and skills
Experienced in the using the Army War Reserve Deployment System (AWRDS)
Experienced in the using the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Unique Logistics Support Applications (TULSA) and Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW)
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Military experience preferred.
