Our Water Environment team is seeking to recruit an experienced Senior or Principal Water Resources Specialist. You will be an ambitious team player with an aptitude for client care, project delivery and development of innovative, cost effective solutions in a collaborative, stimulating, demanding environment. We are a multidisciplinary team with specialists in hydrogeology, hydrology, hydromorphology, water quality, aquatic ecology and water resource management. Together, we work for a wide range of clients and projects including water companies, onshore oil and gas companies, private companies such as bottled water suppliers, and quarry operators. We are also involved in major ongoing projects such as HS2 where our team provides specialist support.
We envisage successful candidates to have experience in and be responsible for:
local and strategic water resources assessments e.g. related to Water Resource Management Plans and Drought Management Plans.
environmental impact assessments and water framework directive assessments.
specialist input to engineering related hydrogeological and hydrological assessments.
guiding or undertaking specialist data analysis, GIS and modelling tasks.
technical report writing, checking and verification.
ensuring compliance with national regulations, policies and guidance.
project management, coordination, and multi-disciplinary working.
business development (including liaising with and advising clients), work winning and the following of business management procedures.
managing and / or mentoring of junior colleagues within the team.
Membership of a relevant professional body, either chartered status or close to application.
Able to communicate effectively with their line manager, project managers, project teams, colleagues, stakeholders and clients.
Sensitive to client needs and possess strong problem-solving and inter-personal skills, including leadership behaviours or aspirations.
Excellent report and proposal writing skills with attention to detail.
Able to take full responsibility for producing and reviewing reports and other deliverables.
Adaptable and flexible in terms of timekeeping so that peaks in demands can be met.
experience in climate change and stochastic based assessments and use of water resources models (e.g. Aquator) would be advantageous.
First degree in a relevant subject.
MSc or above in hydrogeology or similar (relevant to water resources).
Licensed to drive a vehicle in the UK (desirable).
