The job role is within our Civil & Structural Team which forms part of AECOMs Building Engineering Business Line and the successful candidate will perform a role as Graduate Building Engineer/Design Manager on a range of construction projects working with other design managers, civil/structural engineers , mechanical & electrical engineers, architects and other specialists. We deliver creative building and civil engineering projects for Industry, Government, Infrastructure providers, Commercial , Healthcare & Education and Leisure projects ranging from the largest regeneration projects to small housing developments. We work for both private and public sector clients.
We work across all construction stages from pre-feasibility through to design and construction across a diverse range of market sectors including – Airports and Infrastructure, Industry & Mission Critical , Power & Waste, Education & Healthcare , Housing & Mixed use developments and commercial/retail
Your key responsibilities with support from your team, may include the following. The Project Manager will determine the precise role on a project by project basis:-
Engagement in feasibility study /masterplan development
Development of options and layouts
Coordination of other disciplines/specialist inputs to deliver designs in accordance with Brief
Assist in design management
Manage the project controls on AECOMs in-house project management systems including preparation of Project Execution Plans, developing work programmes , progress reporting and financial performance indicators.
Provide building engineering design support and advice
Assist in financial management including monitoring costs, billing , forecasting , change orders and paymen
Develop a sound knowledge and understanding of technical and managerial aspects of their projects.
Opportunities to work on multiple projects as the workload dictates
Bachelors or Masters degree in Building Engineering or similar construction related subject
Good numeric and communication skills
Creative, practical , adaptable and enthusiastic
Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
Ability to be methodical in order to design, plan and organise elements of projects
