We have a strong community of staff using hydraulic modelling to support our flood and coastal projects that we are looking to grow. Working nationally, the community shares skills and experience around quality, training & development and innovation & improvement.

We're looking for people with experience in:

  • flood risk management

  • hydraulic modelling (e.g. FMP, TUFLOW, Hec-Ras, Infoworks ICM)

  • hydrology (e.g. WINFAP-FEH, ReFH2)

  • engineering design

  • business case and project appraisal

​You will be leading technical teams to deliver projects for the Environment Agency, local authorities and other risk management authorities and working as part of interdisciplinary teams on major infrastructure projects. You will be reviewing data and project requirements to develop technical approaches, working with clients, regulators and other stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

  • Provides specialised technical input to studies in relation to river and floodplain modelling

  • Develops technical approach to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others

  • Senior technical resource (may serve as technical advisor for team)

  • Performs quality control review of models and calculations

  • Participates in interdisciplinary collaboration including review of project deliverables

  • Provides input to the development of budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSc/BEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline, (examples include Civil or Environmental Engineering, Maths, GIS, Geography and Environmental Science but other qualifications will be considered).
