Job Description
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design
elements for engineering works.
- Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Job Summary
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with experience in Water Design both gravity and pressure networks.
10+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
Assignments usually include one or more of the following: water, wastewater or surface water network modelling, calculations, preparation of plans and specifications, report preparation. Should have experience in handling projects independently and coordinate with authorities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare the detailed design works, tendering of Potable Water, Foul Sewer, Storm Water and Irrigation network, and their associated pumping stations in relation to Hydraulics calculation works.
Coordinate with authorities for approvals and planning permissions.
Independently prepares design calculations or reports
Basic knowledge of types of code and permit requirements for the Gulf or Bahrain.
Prepare Design Reports, Tender Documents, Standards, Specifications, Technical Schedules, and Drawings.
Proficient with design software, models, etc. Bentley WaterCAD, SewerGEMS and StormCAD essential.
Review Contractors’ submissions, i.e., material submittals, method statements, procedures, shop/construction drawings and design reports.
Assist site supervision teams as and when required. Liaise with clients and authorities.
Advise internal and external clients about the design, costs and planning, in order to support them in taking decisions concerning the design.
The candidate should have experience working in a multinational, multidisciplinary environment. The candidate will also be expected to undertake tasks outside of his/her primary role such as bid preparation, authority liaison etc
Qualification
BSc in Civil Engineering Higher qualifications will be preferred.
If Candidate having experience in Baharin CRPEP registeration is mandatory
Specific skills required
Familiarity of water industry practices and regulations
Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Modelling Software experience preferred
Thorough knowledge of current technology; must be able to select and apply appropriate engineering software for use on project.
Ability to establish and maintaining effective working relationships with staff/Team
Experience in working with Civil 3D is preferred.

Experience
- Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience, Experience in Water supply, foul sewerage, storm water drainage, Irrigation, Pump stations and treatment plants. Experience in the Middle East is preferred.
Qualifications
