We are currently recruiting a Railway Electrification Lead for Europe GDC, with proven and solid experience in the international market. This unique and exciting position offers the opportunity to work in a developing practice with great growth opportunities, working in collaboration with other multiple AECOM offices and Global Design Centers, as part of the Enterprise Capabilities vision for Rail. The Rail System team will provide assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of Rail and Transit Projects, throughout the USA and Australia, not to mention Canada or Middle East. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team. This is a key role within the Europe Global Delivery Center (Poland/Spain) and will report to the Rail Systems Engineering Manager within Europe GDC.

The responsibilities of this role include

  • Leads a Railway Electrification team across different locations.

  • Makes day-to-day decisions for a technical team, integrating resources from different EC offices (Poland, Spain, India…).

  • Participates in strategic planning efforts to expand the OHLE team, with special focus on growing technical expertise.

  • Coordinates and provides technical expertise for mid- large-size OHLE works.

  • Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.

  • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large, complex projects.

  • Delivers effective communication.

  • Trains, mentors and evaluates less experienced staff (within the Europe GDC or other Delivery Centers).

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven track record of working on Electrification design, collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams (+12 years).

  • Knowledge of different systems, such as 25kV AC, 1500V DC, Heavy Rail & Light

  • Appreciate Earthing & Bonding and the Interaction of OHW with other disciplines in a rail environment such as Signaling, Track & Civil, Geotech, Structures, CSR, Civils and Traction Power.

  • Have an appreciation of BIM / Digital Engineering techniques and have a proactive approach to bringing innovation into the industry.

  • Experience with relevant international regulations and standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Railways) from a recognised University

  • US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably
