AECOM Junior Urban Planner and Landscape Architecture in Madrid, Spain

Job Summary

We are looking for urban planners and landscape architects or architects with a background and development in urban planning and landscape, interested in developing in a wide range of projects located all around the world.

The selected person will be working based at the Urban Planning and Landscape department but with potential support to other departments of the business line in the following tasks:

  • Preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.

  • Providing support in terms of technical urban planning and landscape design expertise and administration including sustainable land-use planning, sustainable urban and infrastructure design

  • Under minimal supervision, supporting in a wide range of projects: architectural, urban planning, infrastructure and engineering, environmental projects, competitions, etc. and apply a solid level of understanding within specific projects.

  • Developing urban vision, objectives, framework and planning and urban design key performance indicators for planning and design projects, produce plot, city and territorial level development guidelines and outline urban implementation plans.

  • Supporting in the preparation of urban planning and landscape design meetings.

  • Generating written and illustrative urban planning and landscape design principles, concepts, strategies, controls, and guidelines in line with local and international regulations and standards.

  • Contributing to the team environment, practicing open communication, a participative approach to meetings and work commitment to projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Strong portfolio which demonstrates excellent technical and commercial capabilities.<

  • Between 2 and 3 years of experience in urbanism and landscape. Experience in public realm design would be an asset.

  • Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills.

  • Negotiation and commercial skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Good writing and oral communication skills both in English and Spanish.

  • Skills in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and MS Office.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or Urban Planning/Design
