Job Summary

The Project Management Division is in charge of the execution process of TA projects, the starting point being contract signature with the Client and the closing down after the delivery and approval of the final report and the issuing and collecting the last amount of the last invoice and received the confirmation of the client/ beneficiary satisfaction.

The intern, under the supervision of Deputy Division Director, and working alongside Senior Project Managers in the team, will be in charge of the following duties and task:

  • General : Support to Sr PMs in the implementation of TA project, registration and management of documents in the PMIT (Project Management Information Tool)

  • Budget and cost control of projects: assistance to Sr PMs in project budget execution supervision and improvement; budget control, rellocation proposal, supporting documents control and invoicing follow up.

  • Financial management and APIC : assistance to Sr PMs in budget cost control and financial monitorong of budget implementation. Tracking variances in AECOM information reporting tool.

  • General support to projects : support to senior PMs in the organisation of backstopping visits, logistic support.

  • Control, supervision and reporting support : I)support in expert's reports supervision / revison. II) Support in the preparation of progress reports including format, control deadlines.

  • Experts management: I) Identification of LT & ST experts; II) support in the negotiation; III) Preparation of contracts and negotiation of payment terms. IV) Experts deployment, support and monitoring. V) Supervise formal and administrative aspect of their work.

  • Consortia partners: support to PMs and Sr PMs in contractual issues, invoicing, payment, information & communication.

  • Audit & closing down procedures: support to Sr PMS in preparation of Audit processes

Minimum Requirements



-Currently at the final year of Bachelors Degree

-Advanced user level computer skills.


-Postgraduate diploma (MS, MBA, Ph.D)

-Technical Knowledge of one the following fields: a) Private sector development, b) social development, c) Public finance management.

-Knowledge of EU aid development projects: donors, contracting procedures, etc.



-The position does not required previous professional experience. However any relevant working experience will be assessed favourably.



-English, French and Spanish at very high level (al least C2 level in EU standars)


-Other languajes: (Arabic)


-Analytical and writing skills

-Strong interpersonal and communication skills

-Capacity to meet deadlines and follow several programmes of different nature.

-Pro-active attitude to foresee project risks and mitigate their effects (strong problem-solving skills)

-Organised, sistematic and able to set priorities.

-Capacity to read, interpretet and follow budgets and financial information

-Availability for backstopping missions. Travel to projects if/ when neccesary, often to post-conflict countries.
