Job Summary

Currently Project Management Department of CI Spain is actively seeking a creative and highly talented

Deputy Project Manager for immediate employment. This is a key role within the Project Management team of CI in Madrid.

The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

  • Develop related systems and tools for Project Controls and Project Management

  • Review contracts, scope documents, and available data for the project, and establishes schedules and budgets for compliance with project requirements and contract obligations.

  • Contribute to the drafting of commercial& contractual documents, such as letters, early warning, Change Requests, etc..

  • Elaborate project execution plans

  • Partner with other AECOM offices to ensure delivery and execution challenges are understood.

  • Client liaison

  • Project Management including program and resource planning and monitoring, quality control, technical management and delivery.

  • Review and support monthly invoicing.

  • Work with all team members, and all AECOM departments involved on a specific Project and achieve an integrated project team approach to the work.

  • Planning, development, and continuous monitoring of the project scope, procedures, budget and schedule

  • Proactively monitor critical project milestone dependencies, and potential actions which may result in risks to critical project milestones, and effectively work to mitigate risks.

  • Review project key performance indicators and forecasts any modifications to schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports, and effectively reconciles risks to commitments that may exceed assigned schedules and budgets.

  • Contribute to project communications, AECOM internal contacts and maintains working relationships at throughout the period of the project.

  • Resolve problems of coordination, schedule and prioritization among different teams supporting a specific Project.

  • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure Project performance towards goals and objectives.

  • Provide updates of progress to plan through dashboards, slides and reports.

  • Recognize and assess opportunities and risks on Project delivery

  • Document Control according to AECOM and Project Specific requirements.

  • Comply with statutory, project and AECOM-specific health and safety requirements (or similar)

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University

  • Fluent in English (oral and written). Knowledge of Spanish, French and Italian will be considered favorably

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Access foremost)


  • Experience working on Civil & Infrastructure Projects collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams.

  • Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.

  • Demonstrable management skills

  • PMP Accreditation will be considered favorably

  • Primavera P6 or MS Project knowledge will be considered favorably

  • 1+ year in civil and infrastructure projects; preferably transportation infrastructure projects (road and rail), and project management experience, which includes knowledge of all phases of design.

  • 1+ year experience in large-scale, complex reporting and analysis utilizing various reporting tools that includes designing and executing performance metrics and KPI scorecard programs.

  • Experience implementing continuous improvement concepts to increase operational effectiveness.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the external environment that influences success
