AECOM Architect/Engineer Site Supervisor in Madrid, Spain

Job Summary

Join our B+P team in Madrid as a Senior Architect/Engineer Site Supervisor for immediate employment in our Madrid office.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Technically manage construction projects from preconstruction to commissioning and project closeout

  • Technical leadership and coordination of the multidisciplinary AECOM site team, contractors, client and other construction stakeholders, from preconstruction to commissioning and project closeout.

  • Collaboration with the discipline leaders to technically lead any necessary design changes.

  • Lead the multidisciplinary site team in answering contractor requests for information, reviewing technical submittals and contractor designs, ensuring timely responses.

  • Planning of proper staffing of the site team, informing the PM of any technical and economic risks.

  • Control of construction schedules and milestones.

  • Extensive knowledge of construction systems.

  • Carry out any further action necessary for legal compliance with the statutory role of Director of Works (Director de Obra)

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven track record in construction supervision of complex projects.

  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary design solutions on different levels within the organisation, as well as with third party companies.

  • Act solution oriented. Capability of prioritizing under stressful conditions.

  • Expertise in construction methods of industrial buildings regarding all disciplines.

  • Detailed knowledge of the Spanish construction market.

  • Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit knowledge are recommended.

  • Years of experience: at least 10 years in a site supervision<

  • Languages: Excellent Spanish and English communication skills - Use of other languages is desirable

Others: Based in Madrid, but potentially up to 80% of the time on site.

Willingness to travel.

Valuable to have own vehicle for site visits.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Degree in Architecture /Engineering (Arquitecto / Ingeniero Industrial)

Qualifications/Certifications: Chartered architect /Engineer (Arquitecto /Ingeniero Industrial colegiado)
