Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Mid-Level Industrial Safety Science Services Consultant to join our Environment Business Line West Region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Under minimal supervision, responsible for complex technical work in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.

  • Maintains expert knowledge of specific government agency requirements.

  • Utilizes advanced techniques and diversified knowledge of environmental principles.

  • Assignments are usually self-initiated or directed by a project manager or technical subject matter expert.

  • Uses independent judgment and discretion in data analysis and problem resolution.

  • Recommends improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment's to minimize hazards.

  • Provides regulatory interpretation and technical advice.

  • Prepares reports and recommends corrective action.

  • Work includes technical responsibility for a major phase or component of a project.

  • Assist in the mentorship of early career professionals.

  • Marketing, proposal writing and bringing in new work and clients as well as supporting existing projects and clients.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/Ba plus 4 years of relevant experience in consulting or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid Driver's license is required.

  • Ability to travel 25%-50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in the consulting industry or academia.

  • MS degree in STEM field subjects (e.g., chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, physical sciences, or related field).

  • Post Graduate Research or PhD level education.

  • Regulatory compliance audit fieldwork experience.

  • Excellent working knowledge of EHS regulations and consensus standards.

  • Regulatory compliance audit fieldwork experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience in developing effective business or academic proposals and grant writing for providing competitive, high value services.

  • Professional certification - CSP, CPEA, PE, CIH, or other equivalent certification.

  • Project management experience.
