AECOM PROJECT MANAGER- Civil Construction in LOUDON COUNTY, Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM is accepting applications for an experienced Construction Project Manager for our Southeast Civil Division. This challenging position will provide an excellent growth opportunity while improving the infrastructure of the region.

The Project Manager is responsible to plan and lead projects to ensure a timely and cost-effective outcome. This includes budgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the project. They ensure a smooth transition from the estimate/pre-construction phase to construction, including design management, if applicable. They are responsible for ensuring the project is constructed in a safe and ethical manner in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws. In general, this function requires the following skills and relevant experience:

  • Class A Contractors license in Virginia (or) one of Virginia’s reciprocal states is REQUIRED for this position.

  • Develop and maintain strong project safety culture, practices and policies.

  • Develop and maintain strong client/owner relations

  • Responsible financial forecasting, production tracking and adjustment, cost management, contingency planning and preserving project margin

  • Lead project buyout; negotiate subcontracts, professional services, and material purchases.

  • Fully understand project scope requirements and have the ability to clearly communicate changes in scope to the client

  • Manage financial aspects of owner contracts to protect the company's interests while maintaining strong client relationships.

  • Ensure compliance with minority participation (SBE/DBE/MBE/WBE and ect.) requirements according to the contract documents.

  • Coordinate with estimating during the lifecycle of the project and serve as a technical resource for production reporting, scope and planning.

  • Coordinate daily with project staff to ensure that all design, budget and scheduling obligations are being met.

  • Substantial experience in managing transportation, industrial, and/or water/wastewater projects is required

  • Proven success delivering quality projects safely on time and on budget

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills in all applicable scenarios including related to cost, schedule & contract matters with owner, partners and/or subcontractors

  • Mentor project staff in all aspects of project management

  • Competency in Microsoft Office Suite- Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Preferred skills in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, HCSS, Primavera P6, and Agtek

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience in civil/heavy civil construction required

  • Class A Contractors license in Virginia (or) one of Virginia’s reciprocal states
