Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Sr. Cloud Security Architect to join our Corporate Information Security team. This is a remote/virtual position that can be based from a variety of locations in the United States, not limited to those listed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing a cloud security strategy and coordinating the adoption process

  • Developing and coordinating cloud security architecture and leading cultural change for cloud security

  • Contribute to organization’s priorities on Cloud adoption, IT simplification and modernization, Agile and Dev-Ops acceleration

  • Own the documentation and development of the company’s IT cloud security architecture, and technology portfolio.

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for public & private (hybrid) cloud security architectures

  • Contribute to the development of a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud

  • Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why,” and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation

  • Participate in the selection process to choose the right cloud services for specific use cases with operationalization mind set

  • Provide security architecture consulting expertise, direction, and assistance to 3rd party vendors, systems analysts, IT cloud engineers, and other cloud architects

  • Develop and execute test plans to validate security controls are operational and effective. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement

  • Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations

  • Collaborate and coordinate with partners across subsidiaries, and geographies to manage cyber risk associated with all aspects of the digital strategies and tactics worldwide.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study and 10+ years of relevant information security and/or security architecture experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to the nature of this role US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current AWS or Azure certification

  • Experience with design and development of security architectures for cloud and cloud/hybrid based systems. Possessing a firm understanding of the offerings within Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the Microsoft Azure platforms.

  • Based on business requirements, design and implement cloud-native architectures and designs that will allow those requirements to be met with a minimal degree of risk to Organization and with appropriate security controls present.

  • Working knowledge of common and industry standard cloud-native/cloud-friendly authentication mechanisms (OAuth, OpenID, etc).

  • Experience with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration management (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc) preferred.

  • Be able to align security controls and review with Dev-Ops, Agile and Automation practices across the program / enterprise

  • Experience with service-oriented architecture for cloud-based services.

  • Experience working with cloud security and governance tools, cloud access security brokers (CASBs), and server virtualization technologies.

  • Subject-matter expertise in the areas of security & technology research, cost analysis, risk identification, implementation strategies

  • Expertise in the areas of cloud security requirements gathering, diagramming & documentation, software / technology evaluation and selection

  • Experience collaborating with departmental leadership in order to establish, communicate and maintain security standards.

  • Accountable for ensuring all IT cloud solutions and projects are built and implemented to the agreed security architecture, design and solution specification by conducting or overseeing project reviews.
