Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Approves and signs off on work.
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
Participates in development of technical proposals.
Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
- Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or planning and 15+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in either CA, TX, CO, or AZ. The Candidate must be able to acquire PE license in California within 12 months of employment.
Established external reputation for advanced mobility in the professional community
Active participation and presence in professional organizations such as ITS Americas or ITE, and existing relationships with vehicle and technology ecosystem
Experience working for, or selling to, public sector agencies with a preference toward clients in the transportation sector
Background in ITS and traffic engineering a plus
Strong understanding of both traditional traffic engineering and advanced mobility as they pertain to highways and arterial roadways
Experience either in proposal development or grant preparation
Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate problems and solutions clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff
Excellent written, graphical, and verbal communication skills
Strong problem solving, analytical and research skills
Ability to balance various project responsibilities, budgets, and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality
