AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Vice President, Regional Managing Principal , West for immediate employment for the Los Angeles, CA office.
The Region Business Line Leader (RBLL) develops and drives the strategy and the growth of AECOM’s services for the Buildings + Places (B+P) business line within the west region in alignment with the B+P business line’s strategy for the geography. He/she is responsible for regional business line sales and growth, delivery of bookings, and revenue generation consistent with the financial plan. Champions technical excellence in the west region and B+P business line; identifies strategic skills needed in the business line and develops/recruits/hires key employees with those skills. As an industry leader builds strong relationships and develops/enhances the company’s position and reputation in the market. Supports the delivery of the B+P business line financial plan across all districts in the west region.
Listing of essential duties and responsibilities:
Business Strategy and Development: Responsible for driving the strategy and the growth of AECOM’s services for the B+P business line within the west region. Develops and executes the region’s business strategy with strong support from and collaboration with other Region and Business Line leaders to achieve region growth targets.
Financial Results: In collaboration with the Region Executive, Business Line Executive and members of the Leadership Team - develops the annual goals for bookings and NSR to grow profitable business and ensure financial success of the west region. Responsible for regional B+P business line sales and growth; delivery of bookings and revenue generation consistent with the financial plan.
Project Delivery: Champions technical excellence in the west region and B+P business line. Provides guidance and counsel to Leadership on assignment of technical staff to strategic pursuits, projects, and technical reviews; advises on technical staff development and training.
People: Sets the “tone at the top" ensuring a strong focus on clients, a commitment to excellence and innovation, and strong engagement of employees. Responsible for identifying strategic skills needed in the B+P business line and developing/recruiting/hiring employees with those skills. Responsible for managing and developing direct reports, and proactively champions performance management and succession planning processes.
Operations: Coordinates efforts between the west region and geography business line, including accessing geography-level mega-project managers. Drawing upon technical expertise, directs the development of capture plans in pursuit of profitable and repeat business.
Develops, leads, and executes a strategy to grow the B+P business profitably in coordination with Department Managers, DOO, Dedicated BD, and NBL Leadership.
Aligning operational plan with strategic plan, and execute that plan driving for strong P&L performance.
Through various activities including publication of papers/articles, speaking engagements, leadership positions in industry/professional associations is recognized as a B+P thought leader and subject matter expert. May also represent the company in municipal, provincial, state, and federal group forums.
A compelling business leader with both P&L and sales growth responsibility. Sets the highest safety and ethical standards and leads by example.
Impact of Position on the Business:
Reports in a matrix to the Business Line and Regional Executives, works in conjunction with Market Sector and Account Leaders and oversees Regional Market Sector and Technical Practice Leaders.
Business Development and Operations.
Optimizing staffing and execute workforce planning to drive strong SCM and culture of safety, quality, employee satisfaction, and alignment to AECOM core principles.
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture
15+ years' experience
Deep knowledge of the regional B+P marketplace with national and global reach, key clients, and industry trends is paramount
Experience and skill in strategic B+P business development, client relationships and driving sales and revenue
The ability to support and lead business development activities through early client interaction, “scope of work” development, interviews, and on-going client maintenance interface
Acted as principal-in-charge of a large/multi-disciplined project /consultant team
