Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Transportation Program Management Director , to be based in either Los Angeles or San Francisco, CA . The position is open to a hybrid working model.

JOB SUMMARY:

The candidate will need to have experience specializing in heavy civil and rail transit program management, design, and construction for both above-ground and tunnel projects. This individual should have a broad understanding of all elements of constructing civil projects, particularly for metros, subways, LRT, BRT, and freight rail. They must have a track record of delivering on schedule and within budget while maintaining quality. The candidate will also need to have demonstrated experience working with the client’s executive leadership and successfully managing contractors in Design-Build, DBB, and CMGC settings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead development of pursuit strategy and act as a technical capture manager

  • Actively engage with client and stakeholder during the pre-proposal phase to better understand key issues that will impact successful project delivery

  • Guide the marketing team in proposal development and interview preparation, including formation of win themes and key teaming partnerships

  • Develop partnerships with strategic teaming partners

  • Act as project/program manager for delivering large complex transportation projects

  • Continue to develop and foster relationships with key client staff

  • Manage contractual aspects of projects acting as an agent for AECOM

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + EXTENSIVE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 6 years of leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or another related field.

  • Professional engineering license in California. A professional engineering license in Washington is also desired.

  • 30+ years of experience in the heavy civil and rail construction industry.

  • Demonstrated success in bidding and constructing multi-billion dollar projects as the listed project manager during the pursuit and delivery phase.

  • Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design Build, and other alternative delivery methods.

  • Experience working in various capacities such as owners’ rep, designer, contractor, and construction management.

  • Experience working directly for the owner a plus.

  • Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to communicate problems clearly and simply to clients, leadership, and technical staff.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and research skills.

  • Ability to balance various project, company responsibilities, and deadlines while maintaining professionalism and quality.

Additional Information

  • Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $186,794.46 - $345,569.76.
