Job Summary

AECOM Buildings and Places is seeking a Project Manager, Federal projects. At AECOM, our professional purpose to deliver a better world is at the heart of each project we undertake. We’re looking for a leader of design excellence, one whose design philosophy and practice is driven by a passion for the market sector, for clients, for mentoring staff and for building business. While the majority of AECOM’s West Region Federal work is in California, the region includes Washington, Arizona, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Alaska, and Hawaii. The B+P Federal Practice includes Architecture, Engineering, Interiors, Planning, Urbanism, asset advisory services, and consulting.

As a Project Manager, you will leverage your attention to detail and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional projects on time and on budget. You will direct resources to ensure that the work process flows smoothly and act as the leader between the client and the inter-disciplinary team. In this role, you will provide leadership to the client, user groups (where applicable), and team by communicating project objectives, contract scope, terms, and schedule.

Project Management at AECOM is a business discipline that uses project management, design, strategy and supply chain techniques to control a creative process, support a culture of creativity, and build a structure and organization for design. Through proactive management, design value, financial impact & client impact set the foundation for projects that achieve design & financial success.

General Requirements

  • Revit and BIM preferred as well as experience in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Microsoft Office

  • Ability to lead integrated design teams of varying sizes to accomplish project delivery from concept through construction document completion and may perform construction administration

  • Engaged, inquisitive and highly collaborative

  • Empathy for great design and attention to detail

  • Strategic and critical thinking

  • Analytical with a proactive approach to problem solving

Minimum Requirements

  • Professional Bachelor’s degree in a related design field with 4+ years of relevant experience in design experience managing and directing multi-disciplinary teams (Architecture, Building Engineering and specialty services.) in the delivery of a coordinated project through programming, concept, and construction support

  • Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects

  • Support Federal projects within the last 10 years through all phases of design and construction

  • Registered Architect and/or Professional Engineer

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience managing and directing multi-disciplinary teams

  • Federal DoD and Civilian experience

  • Varying project types to include headquarters, training, hangars, vehicle maintenance, base support.

  • Experience on Federal Design Build projects preferred

  • Ability to be client facing and lead client discussions and charrettes

  • Proficiency with UFCs and other federal criteria
