AECOM Mechanical Engineer - Water/Waste Water in Los Angeles, California

Job Summary

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Identifies discrepancies in results.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in related field of study

  • 5+ years experience in Mechanical design at a process facility

  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer in the State of California (PE)

  • Familiar with Autodesk REVIT

  • Able to produce engineering sketches and calculations with min supervision

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Good skills in optimizing systems and procedures.

  • Excellent knowledge in fluid dynamics and stress analysis.

  • Good working knowledge of mechanical engineering software

  • Good knowledge of construction management

  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with other offices, departments, agencies and the public

  • Ability to analyze complex problems, identifies relevant issues, and formulates reasonable, effective solutions

  • Ability to prepare clear and comprehensive technical reports, charts, and graphs

  • Experienced using Microsoft Office products

  • Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and/or specialized training in water/waste water
