Job Summary
The Building +Places Buisness Line of AECOM is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer III for its Los Angeles office to provide Design skills for the MEP engineering group. The successful Mechanical Engineer III will be responsible multiple projects from initial planning through construction. This posiiton will include management of junior engineers, managment of subcontractors and may include buisness development and marketing support for proposals and presentations.

The responsibilites of this position include, but are not limited to:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
Lead the preparation of deliverables and products such as presentation materials, calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) for commercial, governmental, and institutional facilities
Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
Lead the mechanical design of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems for commercial and institutional facilities
Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software (AutoCAD, Carrier HAP, Trane Trace)
Knowledge of Revit, at least 4 years of experience
Work independently as well as guide junior engineers as needed on projects
Deliver complete, accurate, and coordinated project design assignments within time and budget parameters while satisfying client contractual obligations
Perform field investigations for incorporation of existing conditions into construction documents
Work within a project team environment and coordinate work with other project disciplines
Maintain and organize all project-related documentation
Plan and organize work that follows a defined process
Work independently and make technical decisions based on building code interpretation as well as company, client, and industry standard practices.
Mentor and teach junior engineers
Experience with Tenant Improvement projects.
Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
4+ years of related experience
