AECOM Construction Project Manager IV in Los Angeles, California
Job Summary
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Manage work at water/wastewater facilities
Communicate and coordinate with Staff
Close coordination with M&O and IT staff
Change and claim management, process invoices, manage meetings and site observations, conduct constructability reviews, and procurement and management of design teams, sub-consultants, and IORs
Lead the teams from project inception to completion
Contract Administration
Manage, coordinate, and inspect contractor work while project is in progress
Provide leadership and coordination for project engineers, estimators, schedulers, project controls, and other support team members
Follow and successfully execute program Quality Management System
Report and collaborate with Program Management Team on all project matters
Review and develop contract documents with procurement staff
Identify risk and create risk mitigation plans successfully
Document and report all project data accurately and in a timely manner
Create and present project data clearly to multiple stakeholder groups
Successfully deliver construction projects on schedule and within budget
Coordination of budget and schedule information with PMT
Monitor the permitting and land use process and anticipate issues/challenges for timely project start-up
Track all project status and provide management reports
Track status and provide management reports relative to scheduling, cost control, staffing and other contract requirements
Review and inspect construction site offices
Review recommended actions in resolving disputes relative to construction projects
Direct and assist in outreach efforts to provide information about projects
Ensure client safety standards are being met
Manage expectations of local agencies and landowners
Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree plus six (6) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
Must be able to successfully pass Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field
Experience managing projects as Project or Program Manager of Public Works projects
Knowledge and relative experience with pre-planning, planning, design management, consultant procurement, bidding and construction management
Thorough knowledge of engineering and construction principles, practices and procedures, applicable laws and government regulations, principles of management and supervision and procedures and policies of departments and facility
Bond management and compliance experience
Experience in the public contract code arena
Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration and office procedures
Strong customer service skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must be a proactive problem solver and can adjust to changing job environments
Proficiency in using, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with accepted buildings practices, materials and techniques, knowledge of common and general code requirements, permitting processes and requirements, market pricing and lien waivers.
Ability to travel throughout the construction job site.
