Position Title Construction Inspector- Transportation

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Inspector for immediate employment in the Los Angeles, CA area.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Ensure compliance with the construction contract requirements and shop drawing prepared by contractor
Prepare Daily diaries and maintains inspection records
Ability to review submittals including shop drawings, product data, samples, test samples, QA plans submitted by the contractor
Verify compliance with applicable regulations controlling work including CAL/OSHA and SWPPP
Inspects construction progress which may include ensuring procedures and materials comply with specifications
Observes work in progress to assure conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship
Prepare reports, opinions and recommendations for review by team leaders prior to submission to clients concerning the structures
Ensure conformance with standards, established engineering practices, applicable codes and technical adequacy of design and construction
Keep abreast of new methods and developments
General office administration, including report reproduction, collation and deliveries will also be expected
Assist with preparing Change Orders
Preparation of final as-builts
Perform constructability reviews
8+ years of experience including, previous work performing inspection services on transportation related projects for the state of California
Ability to work in various environments (office and field construction sites)
Ability to work alternative shifts including weekends and nights
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Ability to use and reference the following:
Caltrans Falsework Manual
Caltrans Trench and Shoring Manual
Bridge Construction Records and Procedures Manual
Caltrans Foundation Manual
Caltrans Prestress Manual
Caltrans Deck Construction Manual
Certifications for applicable CTMs, ASTMs and/or ACI procedures and take samples and perform field-controlled tests of construction materials for quality assurance
Previous inspection experience on Bridge Projects
