AECOM Architectural On-Site Representative for Construction in Los Angeles, California

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Sr. Architectural Manager to act as an Owner Authorized On-site Representative in support of a new Professional Sports facility located in Los Angeles, CA that is scheduled to begin early pre-construction activities in late Summer/early Fall 2021 with full construction activities in late 2021 and scheduled to run for three years of construction activities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of architectural design, past successful construction administration experience on both public and private large-scale sports projects, and a strong technical background for complex building geometries is a positive.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for supervision of construction activities as they relate to contract administration and management of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and change management.
Coordinate between design team and construction manager various facets of the construction and close-out phase of all assigned projects.
Manages other onsite representatives for AECOM and coordinates work of other onsite design disciplines that are under contract as subconsultants to AECOM
Reviews pre-construction documents to becomes familiar with the subsequent construction scope.
Plans, organizes, and prepares reports to Design Team and Client with respect to the status and/or progress of the construction.
Participates in weekly Owner, Architect, Contractor (OAC) meetings.
Coordinates construction administration work effort with AECOM employees that will engage in Construction Administration support out of the respective AECOM offices.
Ability to convey information to AECOM offices either through photographic, narrative or sketches or other means where urgent interpretation of proposed revisions to documents are required to maintain construction schedule.
Observes daily activities of the contractor, reviews contractors’ construction schedules and submittals, and coordinates responses to the contractors’ inquiries thru the Requests for Information (RFI) process and other related documents.
Reviews substitution submittals from contractors to ensure specification and/or Owner’s requirements are complied.
Receives, and provides reviews, comments and recommendations regarding Contractor Change Order Proposal(s); reviews and addresses any and all Schedule impacts in accordance with the project specifications in a timely manner
Reviews Certificates for Payment and advises Owner on completed work.
Administers provisions of Professional Service Agreements between Architects and the Owner as relates to construction administration procedures.

Render all decisions relative to administration of construction except those involving aesthetics and/or design, which will be coordinated with the Project Manager.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree plus ten (10) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.
Must have intimate knowledge and thorough understanding of construction contracts, applicable building and life safety codes, scheduling, and familiarity with materials, methods and processes of construction.
Minimum five (5) years’ experience in construction administration oversight of professional sports facility/ public assembly projects
Design Build Experience
Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects
Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes.
Knowledge of Safety and OSHA Safety Regulations (OSHA 30 minimum).
A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board orProfessional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors or in another StateA valid Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification(CMCI) is preferred but not necessary
Proficiency and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
Working knowledge of Newforma Info Exchange is preferred but not necessary
Must be confident, positive and have ability to manage people, maintain great communication skills, and make decisions promptly to maintain tight and sometimes aggressive construction schedules and deadlines.
