AECOM Professional Hydrogeologist in Long Beach, California

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a talented Professional Hydrogeologist for a leadership role in Southern California. We are looking for an individual who can effectively grow the practice, manage and mentor our talented team of geoscience professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of geoscience professionals to produce successful project outcomes.

  • Serve as a technical expert with the ability to positively influence customers, suppliers, and managers.

  • Mentor and coordinate work for junior and mid-level staff.

  • Supervise and direct surface and subsurface investigations that employ traditional and state-of-the-art investigation technologies.

  • Conduct technical approach reviews to confirm the soundness of the technical approach, such as qualified staff are proposed, technical solutions appropriately address our client’s needs, and technical risks are identified along with an effective risk management strategy.

  • Lead development of strategy and deliver solutions to complex problems.

  • Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums, analyze data and develop supported conclusions and recommendations.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical approaches, and add value to client service offerings.

  • Evaluate and prepare proposed approaches, cost estimates and schedules for projects and programs.

  • Interact regularly with clients to expand work assignments or market new work. Market potential and existing clients, secure and manage clients and contracts.

  • Have a safety-oriented behavior with a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.

DCSA—Environment

With world class technical expertise, leading edge technology and innovative project delivery capability around the world, AECOM’s global environmental practice helps industry and government meet their business goals – to achieve compliance, reduce or eliminate risks and manage impacts. We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Geology or related field with 6 years of experience conducting site investigations and remediation of contaminated sites or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education

  • California Professional Geologist

  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project management experience/certification

  • History of demonstrated client account management

  • MS in geology or hydrogeology

  • Registered California Hydrogeologist
