Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level Geologist for employment in the Long Beach, CA office.

The Geologist will be trained on various field and office tasks associated with drilling and well installation, soil and groundwater characterization, monitoring, and remediation for various clients in Southern California. The ideal candidate will be willing and able to learn new skills and methods on challenging field and office assignments in a teamwork environment.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Drilling and well installation

  • Soil, soil-gas, and groundwater Sampling

  • Site investigation and reporting

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., soil science, geology)

  • 2-5 years field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., soil science, geology ,)

  • HAZWOPER trained

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Team player; willingness to work with multiple diffrent colleagues on a variety of initiatives

  • Previous experience within the Oil and Gas market

  • Strong organization skills

  • Experience in describing soil using the USCS and/or USDA methods

  • Previous experience working on HAZWOPER sites
