AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Technician III forimmediate employment in the Long Beach, CA office
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performs more complex tasks and may oversee the work of other technicians.
Performs assignments of substantial variety and complexity under general supervisorydirection. Receives objectives and technical advice from supervisor or scientist.
Will compile data and compute results on a variety of scientific procedures andtechniques.
Other activities may include assisting with calculations, setting up and operatingequipment, inspecting equipment and installations for compliance with specifications andmaintaining proper project documentation.

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes
Must possess a high School Diploma or GED equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects clients are security sensitive.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dusts, noise, chemicals, moisture, and dryness, radiation, mineral fibers, and vibration; position requires frequent operation of vehicles, and lifting of less than 25 pounds; often performing repetitive bending & stooping, standing/walking, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), performing keyboard/mouse operations and repetitive fine hand movements; occasionally working with arms above shoulder level, climbing stairs, using portable ladders, operation of heavy, moving or dangerous equipment, working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment, performing work on electrical circuits, and lifting 25-75 pounds; rarely working at heights, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, and working alone in isolated/remote areas . Position will require wearing associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to safety glasses/goggles, gloves, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, face shield, and respiratory protection
Proficient and knowledgeable with all types of groundwater sampling and gauging techniques (low flow purge, no purge, conventional).
Proficient and knowledgeable with all types of groundwater and LNAPL treatment systems (pump and treat, soil vapor extraction, LNAPL skimming, dual phase extraction, etc.)
