AECOM Environmental Field Technician I in Long Beach, California

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Environmental Technician I for immediate employment in the Long Beach, CA office.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsibilities for this position include various operations and maintenance activities associated with groundwater remediation systems involving extraction of impacted groundwater and hydrocarbons, performing recovery system maintenance as needed, groundwater monitoring, compilation of field data.

  • Performs routine fieldwork as a trainee (such as environmental sampling, assisting with calculations, and operations, maintenance and inspection of equipment of client site), working under close supervision.

  • Performs routine tasks in support of project staff and handles less complex duties.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must possess a high School Diploma or GED equivalent.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects clients are security sensitive.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dusts, noise, chemicals, moisture, and dryness, radiation, mineral fibers, and vibration; position requires frequent operation of vehicles, and lifting of less than 25 pounds; often performing repetitive bending & stooping, standing/walking, power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), performing keyboard/mouse operations and repetitive fine hand movements; occasionally working with arms above shoulder level, climbing stairs, using portable ladders, operation of heavy, moving or dangerous equipment, working in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment, performing work on electrical circuits, and lifting 25-75 pounds; rarely working at heights, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, and working alone in isolated/remote areas . Position will require wearing associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to safety glasses/goggles, gloves, safety shoes/boots, hard hat, hearing protection, face shield, and respiratory protection.
