AECOM Intermediate Cultural Heritage Specialist in London, Ontario

Job Summary

AECOM Canada is pleased to announce that our Cultural Heritage team is growing, and we are now seeking an Intermediate Cultural Heritage Specialist to help us expand our service offerings. As a leader in infrastructure planning, AECOM offers the opportunity to work on a range of complex, high-profile public and private sector projects that provide technical challenges and professional reward. We are seeking an Intermediate Cultural Heritage Specialist to support our existing cultural heritage staff.

  • Conduct research using a variety of methodologies and data sources

  • Conduct field surveys to photo document cultural heritage resources

  • Prepare various types of cultural heritage reports, including Cultural Heritage Reports: Existing Conditions and Preliminary Impact Assessments (CHR)/Cultural Heritage Assessment Reports (CHAR), Cultural Heritage Evaluation Reports, and Heritage Impact Assessments

  • Communicate effectively with municipal, provincial, and federal heritage agencies

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS in urban planning, heritage conservation, or in a related discipline or Diploma/Certificate + 2 Years of relevant experience or HS/GED + 4 Years of relevant experience working in the heritage profession or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Member of CHAP preferred

  • A valid Ontario driver's license

  • Some travel regionally will be required

  • Familiarity with relevant policy frameworks such as the Ontario Heritage Act, the Ontario Heritage Tool Kit, the Planning Act, the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act, the Provincial Policy Statement, the Transit Project Assessment Process, and the Ontario Heritage Bridge Guidelines

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to research and prepare of CHR/CHARs, CHERs and HIAs

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team environment to meet strict time constraints and deadlines

  • Experience using a variety of computer software (e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel)
