Job Description

AECOM' s Ontario Ecology group is looking for applicants for the position of Arborist to support our existing activities and to grow our capacity to serve clients on challenging and exciting projects across the province. This role will be based out of these locations: Hamilton, ON; Kitchener, ON; Markham, ON; Mississauga, ON; Toronto, ON.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizes basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.

  • Collects and enters data and applies technical principles and theories.

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local and federal regulations to ensure compliance.

  • This would be a "hybrid" position with our ecology team where the successful applicant would be able to participate and various reptile, mammal, and other types of surveying.

  • Ability and willingness to work alone and within a team

  • An expectation to have some technical writing abilities and/or the willingness to learn.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in forestry, Environmental Science, Ecology, or Biology, or any other related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Arborist (ISA)

  • Registered Professional Forester (RPF)

  • Attention to detail, proficiency in Excel and GIS, report writing ability, and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
