Job Description

AECOM’s rapidly growing ESG Advisory team is seeking experienced consultants with an industry reputation and a valued ESG network, to increase the depth and capacity of our sector and market insights for our key clients.

In this role, you will join our 40+ strong team of passionate and dedicated regional and global senior ESG advisers offering our clients the benefits of their experience addressing the risks and opportunities that a maturing ESG landscape provides.

Our ESG Advisory practice provides clients the insights and pragmatic solutions garnered from 20+ years of our passionate climate change and sustainable development teams around the world, connected through our virtual global network and digital solutions.

Our work covers the full range of services and solutions our clients require on their sustainability and net zero journeys. As an experienced adviser, you will be able to offer deep insights on one or more of the key challenges our teams are addressing, including:

  • Resilience and adaptation to accelerating climate impacts

  • Infrastructure decarbonisation and energy transition

  • Net Zero real estate and building portfolio decarbonisation

  • Sustainable resource management and the circular economy

  • Land use optimisation in the context of nature-based solutions and natural climate solutions

  • Creating social value and positive social impact across city and infrastructure development

At AECOM our primary purpose is to enable sustainable infrastructure and in achieving that you can expect to work with clients from across our priority sectors including transportation, water, energy, buildings and the natural environment. Our work varies from high-level ESG strategy development, target setting and reporting to net zero and circular economy pathways, through into specialty strategies that meet our client’s material risks and opportunities associated with land and estate optimisation, climate resilience and the energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

As a senior member of our ESG Advisory team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Growth : working with our client account managers and marketing leads, to create and identify ESG opportunities, leading the capture of high-profile projects that will grow our ESG Advisory portfolio and contribute to strategic commissions

  • Project leadership : leading our ESG and sustainability teams to deliver for our clients on secured ESG Advisory work and following up with insights for our key client account managers on pull-through work opportunities

  • Expertise : offering your technical expertise and industry knowledge to our business leaders and to our marketing and communications teams, securing thought leadership and speaking opportunities that demonstrate your insights and experience

  • Strategy : supporting the ESG Advisory practice lead and senior management with strategic support to grow the business

  • Capacity : supporting the technical development of the ESG Advisory practice and bringing in additional recruits to the business while developing the career progression of colleagues to reach their full potential.

Qualifications

As an established operator in the field, you will have a majority of the below experiences:

  • Track record developing new ESG focussed consultancy opportunities and writing winning proposals.

  • Evidenced portfolio of projects where you have advised clients on ESG strategies and pathways that are supporting transition to a sustainable, low carbon future

  • Robust understanding of the global ESG reporting ecosystem and disclosure standards including SASB, GRI, GRESB, TCFD, CDP, EcoVadis, the GHG Protocol and SBTi

  • Financial acumen, allowing you to understand the market context of a clients ESG aspirations and offer solutions that support a viable business case

  • Experience leading and managing projects that deliver required client outcomes within time and budget

Indeed, we are more interested in the industry insights and competencies, which you will have built up over your career and which you can apply confidently at a very senior client level, to pursue ESG focussed opportunity, growth and transformation.

Our Senior ESG Advisory roles are available for any metro location around the world where there is a significant AECOM office hub. We are open to full time and part time work arrangements.
