Job Description

AECOM’s Sustainable Development Group are leaders in the field of Decentralised Energy, including District Heating, District Cooling, Renewables and energy storage.

The team specialises in low carbon sustainable energy network design, from initial opportunity identification, feasibility, business case development and design to commercialization, procurement support, construction support and post construction monitoring. We have a significant number of projects across UK&I and globally within the Middle East and Europe. We also heavily support UK government in the delivery of a variety of schemes, including being technical advisors on both the HNIP and GHNF grant schemes.

We specialise in the decarbonisation of buildings and places and are looking to grow our team. Currently we have a requirement for a Senior Engineer with a particular focus on technical leadership and delivery. We are looking for someone with an excellent grasp of the UK energy market, and how buildings, estates, towns and cities can be decarbonized.

The role offers a great opportunity for career progression for a candidate showing passion, technical ability and leadership skills.

Job Duties

  • Lead the technical delivery of energy engineering projects including district energy, energy efficiency and renewable technology feasibility and design projects.

Examples of the Skills Sought

  • A good understanding of the UK energy market

  • Knowledge of the Heat Networks

  • Knowledge of renewables (PV etc)and low carbon heating technologies

  • Knowledge of energy storage, EV and Micro grids

  • Knowledge of building services, their design and operational requirements including controls and utilities and commissioning

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience of delivering Energy Option Studies / Energy Audits / Decarbonisation strategies

  • Track record of project delivery from concept stage through to operation

Preferred Qualifications

  • MEng / BEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred

  • CEng status would be beneficial
