As part of AECOM's growth strategy we are currently seeking to appoint a Consultant/ Senior Consultant who is a strategic thinker and self-starter, to support the growth and delivery of our Strategic Advisory as part of our Advisory. The Advisory business within Civil Infrastructure spearheads the breadth of AECOM’s capabilities, providing key decision-making advice to clients around policy, strategy, planning and funding/financing. Our Vision within Strategic Advisory is to be a leader in Transport strategic advice shaping future debate on policy and planning helping our partners realise future thinking now.
The aim of this role is to provide analysis/advice to clients, robustly manage and deliver projects, and make this vision a reality as part of a team, positioning AECOM as a more strategic and leader in the marketplace enabling AECOM to grow with higher profitability.
The key features of the role are:
Building effective relationships with external clients, and a good understanding of industry challenges.
Develop policy options with clients and support workshops and events to build consensus for policy developments.
Logical thinker with excellent numerical skills able to provide intelligence from research and data analysis.
Ability to benchmark, write reports and put together excellent presentations to clients Transform data analysts into business intelligence and reporting capabilities.
Support the delivery of the Strategic Advisory Strategy to build the team, create a profitable unit and a recognisable brand within agreed timescales.
Delivery of projects and advice to high quality and client satisfaction.
Strategic thinker and self-starter adding to a positive culture of the team.
Support and sometimes lead the delivery of bids through early client engagement, translating win themes into winning bid submissions
Operate in a collaborative spirit to make best use of available resources across AECOM.
Undertake Health and Safety duties including ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for the project team members and fulfilling all responsibilities for health and safety in design.
As a [Senior] Consultant in AECOM you would:
Lead projects and bids with moderate levels of complexity
Analyse complex issues and be accountable for solving moderate to challenging problems
Be accountable for performance and results for your projects
Work collaboratively with the ability to make autonomous decisions in line with and supportive of AECOM strategy
Contribute to AECOM’s Strategic Advisory business strategy and planning
Skills and Experience:
Strategic and critical thinker with experience in policy formulation, research/analysis and project delivery.
Logical, strategic thinker with strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communicator - a leader and champion of the business with an excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to liaise/present directly with our clients.
Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work accurately.
Relevant academic professional qualifications to reflect the level of seniority of the role.
Understanding and practical application of project management.
Manging stakeholders and delivering high quality advice/solutions in complex environments with multiple stakeholders.
Has a solid foundation of understanding or analysis of client business practices and goals; develops and formulates solutions to client problems on assigned projects.
good analytical skills
Under limited supervision, responsible for the creation of work plans and task definitions.
Has broad technical knowledge but possesses an area of specialization or focus.
