Due to expanding workload and exciting project wins, AECOM are recruiting for all the above roles in the UK. AECOM are offering a great opportunity to join our rapidly growing architecture team in our multi-disciplinary London office.

You’ll be working closely with the multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors. Excellent communication skills and a friendly outlook are essential.
About Our Team:
AECOM’s design team in London is a dynamic multi-disciplinary collaborative team working on Transportation, sports, healthcare, workplace, interiors, masterplanning, landscape and export work for major international clients. We work closely with our engineers and specialists in-house. Export work for Middle East clients is a major part of the London office revenue and provides large scale complex schemes which will be of interest for architects who thrive in a challenging and dynamic environment.
Contribute, from the onset of a project to the design of innovative and progressive design solutions that reconcile client’s goals and priorities while fostering opportunities for design excellence.
To perform and/or direct material and building system research and participate in the co-ordination and preparation of project specifications.
Ensuring CDM Safety in Design and Sustainability principles are applied throughout all design stages of a project.
Organises own and technical staff to achieve set deadlines.
Ensures, directly and through subordinates, that projects are completed on time and meet all requirements of the Design Brief and Client requirement documents.
Responsible for the correctness, accuracy and complete multi-disciplinary coordination of the design documentation prepared by the assigned team.
Ensures the quality of technical work produced by team meets AECOM’s Technical Excellence standards.
Applies advanced knowledge and experience to manage the day-to-day work of their team.
Routinely interacts with managers, seniors and clients, contractors, local authority representatives and others expertise and negotiation skills to resolve critical issues.
Responsible for key design input at early design phases and for general design execution during the course of the project.
Promotes teamwork within a multi-disciplinary team, maintaining positive moral and instilling a creative culture within the practice.
Make appropriate value judgements with respect to corrective work that supports the design concept and performance goals of the project.
Manage interface between Design Team / Site Team ensuring proper design support is provided in a timely manner.
Support Principals and/or Directors with operational responsibilities which includes development and implementing Technical Excellence initiatives, management of resources (HR), training initiatives (CPD).
Support and develop their own team through guidance, coaching, mentoring and leadership.
Ensures the latest software and digital techniques are utilised to increase productivity and training opportunities for staff are made available.
Understands and implements design leadership principles and able to work within project budgets which includes fees and designing to budget.
Assist in initial assessment of potential new projects and competitions.
Support Principal and/or Directors in the preparation of bids.
Support senior staff with existing and prospective clients.
Support marketing and business development initiatives.
Relevant degree or professional qualification in Architecture.
A clear work history and portfolio of professional development and learning in the aviation Sector, or high-profile transport schemes (3+ years).
Experience in delivering aviation projects in the Middle East region is preferred.
Experience working within a multi-disciplinary aviation team environment and/or consultancy is preferred.
Sustainability within the aviation sector and suitable sustainability accreditation (LEED, etc) will be of benefit but not essential.
