Job Summary

AECOM Capital, the real estate investment management arm and subsidiary of AECOM (NYSE:ACM) is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to support AECOM Capital, a private equity fund focused on opportunistic real estate investments around the globe. AECOM is a Fortune 500 company and listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

General Responsibilities:

As an intern, you will gain exposure to private equity real estate investing, development and capital raising. You will partake in pre-development due diligence, acquisitions, equity/debt financing and development management. As a member of the investment team, you will conduct financial analysis, perform market due diligence, monitor projects and provide general analytical and operational support.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Perform risk assessments and profitability analyses as well as sensitivities on potential real estate investments. Build and run financial models, audit, and review and modify financial models generated by development partners. Assist with the production deal memorandums and investment committee memorandums as necessary.

  • Support all real estate acquisition activities. Act as a liaison between the company and developers, owners, lenders, consultants and other internal and external third parties. Analyse and evaluate operational, financial, market and statistical data as it pertains to projects.

  • Assist with pre-development and development efforts on current portfolio of assets. Coordinate with construction counter-parties on monthly reviews and reporting for investments.

  • Research key market statistics.

  • Manage, compile and analyse data on current macroeconomic and microeconomic trends in the market and help to identify potential opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Real Estate and/or Finance is highly desirable, related educational background also acceptable;

  • Extremely proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Prior financial underwriting experience, focusing on Real Estate and Development

  • Demonstrate high level of analytical and problem solving skills

  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task and efficiently manage time and workload

  • Ability to work well in a team environment or on an individual basis

  • Impeccable attention to detailReal estate deal experience is desirable

  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MSc or MBA degree in Real Estate and/or Finance is desirable
