Job Description
Our UK&I Infrastructure Commercial Services team continues to grow, with a specific growth demand for our Estimating team across Transport and Energy sectors. As a direct result of this growth, we are currently seeking a full time Head of Estimating to support our business growth. The position is for our London office but other offices across UK&I will be considered.
You will be part of an exciting team supporting us to successfully manage and deliver various capital projects across UK&I, and the wider global AECOM.
The ideal candidate will provide leadership, organization and coordination to oversee the Estimating team. Key activities on Water sector projects including;
People Management
Estimating, Cost & Commercial Management
Governance, Best Practice and Standard Approaches
Experience developing AAEC Class 5 through 1 estimates through the whole project lifecycle
Communication and information management
Management of the technical aspects of design, procurement, implementation and close-out in accordance with the programme
Co-ordination of all relevant parties of the project from inception to closeout
Assist clients in defining project requirements
Establishing effective processes and systems to be utiliSed throughout projects.
Preparing formal project progress and other reports
Liaising with the client, contractors and designers
The successful applicant will be the day to day face of some of our largest Infrastructure projects across Aviation, Rail, Highways, Water and Energy sectors.
The ability to present to clients and at industry specific and client forums are important attributes.
Capabilities
A proven track record in Estimating within the Infrastructure sector.
Have excellent business development experience and skills.
Having Estimating & Cost Management experience with a Contractor would be an advantage.
Be articulate and confident communicator with excellent presentation skills.
As a practice line leader, you will have proven business development skills and a network within the UK&I construction sector.
Proven track record in delivering on-time, on budget and to the prescribed standards
Track record of meeting targets on daily, weekly and monthly basis
To direct a multi-disciplinary team through the project to ensure deadlines are met ensuring that detailed programmes are drawn up for each stage
To ensure that all stakeholders are kept up to date with works progress
To identify any aspects of the project which have significant potential to cause disputes or additional costs to be incurred and resolve as appropriate.
To plan works thoroughly to maintain a safe system of work specific to each project

Qualifications
Qualifications
Degree level qualification or relevant experience, ideally civil engineering
Professional membership of relevant Professional body such as RICS
15+ years PQE in management of complex projects in a fast paced environment
Post graduate qualifications construction management or engineering would be an advantage
