Job Summary

Our Facade Engineering team in London is currently looking to hire a permanent Façade CAD / BIM Technician, to work on a range of projects in a variety of sectors including Industrial, Commercial, Education and Aviation.

Job Responsibilities to include;

  • Liaison with external and internal consultant teams

  • Provide façade engineer design and build-ability consultancy, including material knowledge and installation techniques

  • Preparation and coordination of Façade drawings and BIM models.

  • Coordinate with consultants such as architect, structural, sustainability and acoustic engineers to determine best façade design outcomes.

  • Preparing technical supporting data for specifications and reports etc.

  • Ensure compliance to the appropriate company CAD standards and protocol

  • Apply policies relating to company standards & procedures, health & safety, quality, and training

  • Liaison with wider AECOM BIM Community to advance skills and service offer

  • Mentoring less experienced members of the CAD team

  • Liaise with other staff, project teams, associated consultants and clients and assist in building and maintaining relationships with all of these

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in designing and detailing construction and façade details essential

  • Strong interest in façade design and engineering

  • Co-ordinate drawings within the façade design team and the architectural design intent

  • Good understanding of architectural drawings and capability of developing architect’s drawings to constructions drawings

  • Proficiency using AutoCAD and Revit as well as 2D/3D tools such as Rhino

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, a passion for developing innovative and bespoke ideas and solutions, and the ability to collaborate across design and engineering disciplines

  • Ability to manage more than 1 project at a time

  • Ensure proper filing of design drawings and documents / understanding the QA process policies relating to company standards & procedures

  • Flexible, initiative, motivated, good teamworker, good communications skills, reliable, responsible and enthusiastic

The right candidate will be able to carry out most if not all of the items listed above with little to no supervision
