Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a Civil Enginee r to join our expanding Civils team in our London Aldgate Office.
Working under the guidance of a Principal or Senior Engineer, you will play an important role within the team and will oversee junior team members working to support the delivery of projects. This role will suit an excellent communicator and team player and will provide the opportunity for you to work closely with private and public sector Clients across several sectors as well as multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
The Basingstoke team has an established track record of successfully delivering high profile development and infrastructure schemes. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop technical highway and drainage designs to support S38, S278 and S104 submissions.
Undertake a variety of technical assessments for new developments.
Explain technical concepts to others including more junior colleagues and clients.
Prepare or supervise the preparation of presentations and present information to internal and external groups.
Manage small (or elements of larger) projects with moderate supervision, managing the production of analysis and associated outputs, ensuring outputs are delivered on time, within agreed budgets and to an excellent standard.
Provide updates to project managers/directors in terms of the progress of tasks in line with programmes
Please note you will be require to travel to the Basingstoke office.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experience in UK development related infrastructure engineering.
Experience in the preparation of highways and drainage design. Familiar with S278, S38 and S104 processes.
Knowledge and application of drainage design from first principles and experience in the building of hydraulic models using Micro Drainage or InfoDrainage and writing flood risk assessments or drainage strategies for development projects.
Experience in the use of Civil3D to support highway alignment design.
Suitable knowledge of relevant design standards including DMRB, Manual for Streets, Sewers for Adoption, local road standards and relevant national planning policy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree qualification (or equivalent experience) in Civil Engineering or similar
Masters degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
