If so, we are looking for an Associate Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to join our team in London providing a comprehensive, accurate and value driven service across a variety of high profile and exciting projects for key clients. About Our Team:
Our Cost Management team in London are part of the wider National Infrastructure Cost and Commercial Management team delivering all aspects of cost management services, covering the whole project lifecycle from initial inception / business case through to completion / commissioning and are looking to expand our team to deliver an exciting mix of projects across a range of sectors and clients.
Job Responsibilities:
As an Associate Cost Manager working within the wider team, you will lead and deliver in all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying from project inception to completion. You will work with an Associate or Director to successfully manage and deliver a number of projects, varying in complexity and value. You will drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process. Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry. You will also be responsible for managing and mentoring junior staff to deliver our Cost Management service efficiently and effectively. Core responsibilities include:
Feasibility estimates
Procurement advice
Cost planning
Value and risk management
Post contract management
Change Management
JCT Contract Administration
Fee generation
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management
Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.
Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors. Infrastructure sector experience would be advantageous.
Understanding of JCT standard forms of contract
Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.
Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.
Experience of working as part of integrated, multi-organisation, collaborative teams
Experience of working within a client organization, either directly or through a co-location/secondment arrangement would be of benefit
Preferred Experience:
A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning
Ideally you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate
Ability to manage multiple projects for a variety private sector clients.
Prior line-management experience
