Asset Strategy and Facilities Management team provides professional technical advice in a number of areas during the project life cycle from acquisition to disposal including the funding, construction and occupation stages. Service offerings include Asset Strategy and Facilities Management, FM Procurement, FM Service Specification, FM operational support and reviews, Soft Landing, Operational Readiness, Contract Management And Monitoring and Performance Audit Benchmarking, Cost Modelling, Whole Life and Life Cycle Costing.

You will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of clients including some very high profile names, often working alongside other construction professionals in multi-disciplinary teams. We believe that actually doing the work itself gives the best opportunity to learn, so you can expect to be given responsibility, and will need to be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team, all whilst receiving the guidance and support to allow you to develop.


The responsibilities for the delivery of Asset Strategy and Facilities Management services include but not limited to:


  • Managing and lead on Asset/ FM related projects;

  • Providing advice to clients on service efficiency and cost savings opportunities;

  • Undertaking FM related Technical Due Diligence commissions and producing due diligence reports;

  • Undertaking Benchmarking and Cost Modelling exercise.

Asset Optimisation and Whole Life Value Planning:

  • Providing Life Cycle and Whole Life Costing advice;

  • Supporting development of BREEAM assessment;

  • Asset assessment and operational cost planning;

  • Implementation of Soft Landings and support of post occupancy evaluation;

  • Undertaking facilities management operational design review;

  • Contribute to developing operational BIM model.

FM Strategy and Procurement Advisory:

  • Providing strategic FM advice;

  • Review of FM services delivery, and advise the optimum delivery model for procurement;

  • Providing public/private sector procurement advice;

  • Managing FM procurement/ outsourcing processes, including stakeholder engagement;;

  • Developing Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) and tender documentation including service specifications, evaluation criteria and input into cost models and performance management.

Operational FM:

  • Undertaking FM contract management and reviews;

  • Undertaking Operational Contract Monitoring role;

  • Support workspace assessment / transformation, moves and churn management;

  • Operational readiness and FM design review;

  • Mobilisation support.

Candidate shall also take an active role in:

  • Supporting the goal of growing the FM team and identify suitable business opportunities whenever possible;

  • Maintaining quality outputs;

  • Maintain and develop good client relationships to provide good prospects and repeat business;

  • Anticipating the needs of existing clients and pursue future opportunities;

  • Ability to network with internal AECOM contacts and making appropriate referrals to other areas of the business whenever possible.

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate shall be able to demonstrate competencies and market knowledge required to undertake the majority of the above Asset Strategy and Facilities Management advisory services.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Excellent client management skill.

  • Effective decision making and strong verbal and written communication including report writing.

  • Good working knowledge of MS EXCEL, WORD and PowerPoint are essential for this role.

  • Proactive and driven approach to work and creating success.

  • Expertise in technical, analytical, problem solving and project management skills.

  • Ability to working in a team of diverse individuals to meet common objectives.

  • Good organisation skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Good business acumen.

  • Confident and able to lead and manage Asset / FM projects from start to finish.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally Bachelor’s or Master’s degree qualified or equivalent experience in a relevant subject such as FM, Property, Building Services or an Engineering discipline.

  • Relevant working experience preferably in senior operational or senior FM consultancy set up.

  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. BIFM, CIPS, IFMA, RIBA, RICS, IMechE, IEE etc.)

  • Other relevant qualifications and/or experience in public sector, healthcare, procurement, project management, energy or health & safety would be advantageous to this position.
